| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cxl: Fix CXL_HEADERLOG_SIZE to match RAS Capability size The CXL r4.0 8.2.4.17.7 RAS Capability Structure has total length 0x58 bytes (CXL_RAS_CAPABILITY_LENGTH); the Header Log occupies the trailing 64 bytes at offset 0x18. CXL_HEADERLOG_SIZE was defined as SZ_512, eight times the actual on-device size. header_log_copy() reads CXL_HEADERLOG_SIZE_U32 (128) dwords from the RAS capability iomap, overrunning the 88-byte mapping by 448 bytes. The cxl_aer_uncorrectable_error trace event memcpy()s CXL_HEADERLOG_SIZE (512) bytes from its source. For the CPER caller the source is struct cxl_ras_capability_regs::header_log[16] (64 bytes) embedded in a stack-local cxl_cper_prot_err_work_data, so the memcpy reads 448 bytes of kernel stack into the trace event ring buffer where userspace can read it via tracefs. Set CXL_HEADERLOG_SIZE to 64 and derive CXL_HEADERLOG_SIZE_U32 from it, bringing all iomap readers into agreement on 16 dwords. Userspace tools such as rasdaemon have grown a dependency on the buggy 512-byte (128 u32) header_log layout in the cxl_aer_uncorrectable_error trace event. Add CXL_HEADERLOG_TRACE_SIZE_U32 = 128 and use it for the trace event __array and its memcpy to preserve that ABI. Both callers now pass a zero-filled u32[CXL_HEADERLOG_TRACE_SIZE_U32] staging buffer with only the first CXL_HEADERLOG_SIZE_U32 (16) entries populated from hardware; the remaining 112 u32s are zero-padded, keeping the 512-byte trace ring buffer layout intact. [ dj: Replaced 64 with SZ_64 per RichardC ] | ||||

| CVE-2026-43199 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-21 | 7.5 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5e: Fix "scheduling while atomic" in IPsec MAC address query Fix a "scheduling while atomic" bug in mlx5e_ipsec_init_macs() by replacing mlx5_query_mac_address() with ether_addr_copy() to get the local MAC address directly from netdev->dev_addr. The issue occurs because mlx5_query_mac_address() queries the hardware which involves mlx5_cmd_exec() that can sleep, but it is called from the mlx5e_ipsec_handle_event workqueue which runs in atomic context. The MAC address is already available in netdev->dev_addr, so no need to query hardware. This avoids the sleeping call and resolves the bug. Call trace: BUG: scheduling while atomic: kworker/u112:2/69344/0x00000200 __schedule+0x7ab/0xa20 schedule+0x1c/0xb0 schedule_timeout+0x6e/0xf0 __wait_for_common+0x91/0x1b0 cmd_exec+0xa85/0xff0 [mlx5_core] mlx5_cmd_exec+0x1f/0x50 [mlx5_core] mlx5_query_nic_vport_mac_address+0x7b/0xd0 [mlx5_core] mlx5_query_mac_address+0x19/0x30 [mlx5_core] mlx5e_ipsec_init_macs+0xc1/0x720 [mlx5_core] mlx5e_ipsec_build_accel_xfrm_attrs+0x422/0x670 [mlx5_core] mlx5e_ipsec_handle_event+0x2b9/0x460 [mlx5_core] process_one_work+0x178/0x2e0 worker_thread+0x2ea/0x430 | ||||

| CVE-2026-43059 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-21 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: MGMT: Fix list corruption and UAF in command complete handlers Commit 302a1f674c00 ("Bluetooth: MGMT: Fix possible UAFs") introduced mgmt_pending_valid(), which not only validates the pending command but also unlinks it from the pending list if it is valid. This change in semantics requires updates to several completion handlers to avoid list corruption and memory safety issues. This patch addresses two left-over issues from the aforementioned rework: 1. In mgmt_add_adv_patterns_monitor_complete(), mgmt_pending_remove() is replaced with mgmt_pending_free() in the success path. Since mgmt_pending_valid() already unlinks the command at the beginning of the function, calling mgmt_pending_remove() leads to a double list_del() and subsequent list corruption/kernel panic. 2. In set_mesh_complete(), the use of mgmt_pending_foreach() in the error path is removed. Since the current command is already unlinked by mgmt_pending_valid(), this foreach loop would incorrectly target other pending mesh commands, potentially freeing them while they are still being processed concurrently (leading to UAFs). The redundant mgmt_cmd_status() is also simplified to use cmd->opcode directly. | ||||
| CVE-2026-31650 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-21 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mmc: vub300: fix use-after-free on disconnect The vub300 driver maintains an explicit reference count for the controller and its driver data and the last reference can in theory be dropped after the driver has been unbound. This specifically means that the controller allocation must not be device managed as that can lead to use-after-free. Note that the lifetime is currently also incorrectly tied the parent USB device rather than interface, which can lead to memory leaks if the driver is unbound without its device being physically disconnected (e.g. on probe deferral). Fix both issues by reverting to non-managed allocation of the controller. | ||||
| CVE-2026-31630 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-21 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rxrpc: proc: size address buffers for %pISpc output The AF_RXRPC procfs helpers format local and remote socket addresses into fixed 50-byte stack buffers with "%pISpc". That is too small for the longest current-tree IPv6-with-port form the formatter can produce. In lib/vsprintf.c, the compressed IPv6 path uses a dotted-quad tail not only for v4mapped addresses, but also for ISATAP addresses via ipv6_addr_is_isatap(). As a result, a case such as [ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff:0:5efe:255.255.255.255]:65535 is possible with the current formatter. That is 50 visible characters, so 51 bytes including the trailing NUL, which does not fit in the existing char[50] buffers used by net/rxrpc/proc.c. Size the buffers from the formatter's maximum textual form and switch the call sites to scnprintf(). Changes since v1: - correct the changelog to cite the actual maximum current-tree case explicitly - frame the proof around the ISATAP formatting path instead of the earlier mapped-v4 example | ||||
| CVE-2026-31530 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-21 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cxl/port: Fix use after free of parent_port in cxl_detach_ep() cxl_detach_ep() is called during bottom-up removal when all CXL memory devices beneath a switch port have been removed. For each port in the hierarchy it locks both the port and its parent, removes the endpoint, and if the port is now empty, marks it dead and unregisters the port by calling delete_switch_port(). There are two places during this work where the parent_port may be used after freeing: First, a concurrent detach may have already processed a port by the time a second worker finds it via bus_find_device(). Without pinning parent_port, it may already be freed when we discover port->dead and attempt to unlock the parent_port. In a production kernel that's a silent memory corruption, with lock debug, it looks like this: []DEBUG_LOCKS_WARN_ON(__owner_task(owner) != get_current()) []WARNING: kernel/locking/mutex.c:949 at __mutex_unlock_slowpath+0x1ee/0x310 []Call Trace: []mutex_unlock+0xd/0x20 []cxl_detach_ep+0x180/0x400 [cxl_core] []devm_action_release+0x10/0x20 []devres_release_all+0xa8/0xe0 []device_unbind_cleanup+0xd/0xa0 []really_probe+0x1a6/0x3e0 Second, delete_switch_port() releases three devm actions registered against parent_port. The last of those is unregister_port() and it calls device_unregister() on the child port, which can cascade. If parent_port is now also empty the device core may unregister and free it too. So by the time delete_switch_port() returns, parent_port may be free, and the subsequent device_unlock(&parent_port->dev) operates on freed memory. The kernel log looks same as above, with a different offset in cxl_detach_ep(). Both of these issues stem from the absence of a lifetime guarantee between a child port and its parent port. Establish a lifetime rule for ports: child ports hold a reference to their parent device until release. Take the reference when the port is allocated and drop it when released. This ensures the parent is valid for the full lifetime of the child and eliminates the use after free window in cxl_detach_ep(). This is easily reproduced with a reload of cxl_acpi in QEMU with CXL devices present. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/efa: Fix use of completion ctx after free On admin queue completion handling, if the admin command completed with error we print data from the completion context. The issue is that we already freed the completion context in polling/interrupts handler which means we print data from context in an unknown state (it might be already used again). Change the admin submission flow so alloc/dealloc of the context will be symmetric and dealloc will be called after any potential use of the context. | ||||
| CVE-2026-23459 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-21 | 8.2 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ip_tunnel: adapt iptunnel_xmit_stats() to NETDEV_PCPU_STAT_DSTATS Blamed commits forgot that vxlan/geneve use udp_tunnel[6]_xmit_skb() which call iptunnel_xmit_stats(). iptunnel_xmit_stats() was assuming tunnels were only using NETDEV_PCPU_STAT_TSTATS. @syncp offset in pcpu_sw_netstats and pcpu_dstats is different. 32bit kernels would either have corruptions or freezes if the syncp sequence was overwritten. This patch also moves pcpu_stat_type closer to dev->{t,d}stats to avoid a potential cache line miss since iptunnel_xmit_stats() needs to read it. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ima: Fix stack-out-of-bounds in is_bprm_creds_for_exec() KASAN reported a stack-out-of-bounds access in ima_appraise_measurement from is_bprm_creds_for_exec: BUG: KASAN: stack-out-of-bounds in ima_appraise_measurement+0x12dc/0x16a0 Read of size 1 at addr ffffc9000160f940 by task sudo/550 The buggy address belongs to stack of task sudo/550 and is located at offset 24 in frame: ima_appraise_measurement+0x0/0x16a0 This frame has 2 objects: [48, 56) 'file' [80, 148) 'hash' This is caused by using container_of on the *file pointer. This offset calculation is what triggers the stack-out-of-bounds error. In order to fix this, pass in a bprm_is_check boolean which can be set depending on how process_measurement is called. If the caller has a linux_binprm pointer and the function is BPRM_CHECK we can determine is_check and set it then. Otherwise set it to false. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: shmem: fix recovery on rename failures maple_tree insertions can fail if we are seriously short on memory; simple_offset_rename() does not recover well if it runs into that. The same goes for simple_offset_rename_exchange(). Moreover, shmem_whiteout() expects that if it succeeds, the caller will progress to d_move(), i.e. that shmem_rename2() won't fail past the successful call of shmem_whiteout(). Not hard to fix, fortunately - mtree_store() can't fail if the index we are trying to store into is already present in the tree as a singleton. For simple_offset_rename_exchange() that's enough - we just need to be careful about the order of operations. For simple_offset_rename() solution is to preinsert the target into the tree for new_dir; the rest can be done without any potentially failing operations. That preinsertion has to be done in shmem_rename2() rather than in simple_offset_rename() itself - otherwise we'd need to deal with the possibility of failure after successful shmem_whiteout(). | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/panthor: Prevent potential UAF in group creation This commit prevents the possibility of a use after free issue in the GROUP_CREATE ioctl function, which arose as pointer to the group is accessed in that ioctl function after storing it in the Xarray. A malicious userspace can second guess the handle of a group and try to call GROUP_DESTROY ioctl from another thread around the same time as GROUP_CREATE ioctl. To prevent the use after free exploit, this commit uses a mark on an entry of group pool Xarray which is added just before returning from the GROUP_CREATE ioctl function. The mark is checked for all ioctls that specify the group handle and so userspace won't be abe to delete a group that isn't marked yet. v2: Add R-bs and fixes tags | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath12k: Fix MSDU buffer types handling in RX error path Currently, packets received on the REO exception ring from unassociated peers are of MSDU buffer type, while the driver expects link descriptor type packets. These packets are not parsed further due to a return check on packet type in ath12k_hal_desc_reo_parse_err(), but the associated skb is not freed. This may lead to kernel crashes and buffer leaks. Hence to fix, update the RX error handler to explicitly drop MSDU buffer type packets received on the REO exception ring. This prevents further processing of invalid packets and ensures stability in the RX error handling path. Tested-on: QCN9274 hw2.0 PCI WLAN.WBE.1.4.1-00199-QCAHKSWPL_SILICONZ-1 | ||||

| CVE-2025-68353 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-21 | 7.0 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: vxlan: prevent NULL deref in vxlan_xmit_one Neither sock4 nor sock6 pointers are guaranteed to be non-NULL in vxlan_xmit_one, e.g. if the iface is brought down. This can lead to the following NULL dereference: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000010 Oops: Oops: 0000 [#1] SMP NOPTI RIP: 0010:vxlan_xmit_one+0xbb3/0x1580 Call Trace: vxlan_xmit+0x429/0x610 dev_hard_start_xmit+0x55/0xa0 __dev_queue_xmit+0x6d0/0x7f0 ip_finish_output2+0x24b/0x590 ip_output+0x63/0x110 Mentioned commits changed the code path in vxlan_xmit_one and as a side effect the sock4/6 pointer validity checks in vxlan(6)_get_route were lost. Fix this by adding back checks. Since both commits being fixed were released in the same version (v6.7) and are strongly related, bundle the fixes in a single commit. | ||||
