CVSS v3.1 |
| Thelia 3.0.0's back-office Email/Messages feature contains a server‑side template injection (SSTI) flaw that allows any authenticated user with the “Messages” permission to supply unsandboxed Twig templates, which are then compiled and executed as raw code. By modifying Message content, an attacker can execute arbitrary PHP functions, read sensitive files, and potentially write to the filesystem, leading to full compromise of the application and underlying host. This vulnerability has been patched in thelia/twig-engine-module 1.0.9. |
| Thelia 2.6.1 contains an absolute path traversal vulnerability in its Smarty template handling that enables SSTI and remote code execution. The `checkTemplate()` validation restricts relative directory traversal sequences such as `../` but does not reject absolute paths, allowing an authorized user to supply an arbitrary filesystem path as a template. Smarty then loads and compiles the referenced file without an effective security policy, so depending on filesystem layout and deployment configuration, template code in the file can be executed with the web server's privileges. |
| Thelia 2.6.0 uses Smarty for email templates without properly restricting access to dangerous PHP functions. An authenticated administrator can inject malicious Smarty expressions into email templates via the messages configuration interface, and when the template is previewed or rendered, functions such as system(), exec(), file_put_contents(), and file_get_contents() can be executed with the privileges of the web process. This allows arbitrary OS command execution, file read/write operations, and RCE on the underlying server. |
| A template injection vulnerability was discovered in the Dashboards functionality due to improper validation of an input parameter. An authenticated user with the required privileges can define a dashboard containing a malicious payload, or a victim can be socially engineered into importing a malicious dashboard. When the victim views or imports the dashboard, the payload executes in their browser context, allowing the attacker to modify application data or disrupt application availability. |
| Backstage is an open framework for building developer portals. Prior to 1.14.6 and from 1.15.0 until 1.15.4, the @backstage/plugin-techdocs-node package insufficiently validates mkdocs.yml supplied by an authenticated user who can register or modify a TechDocs source. Unsafe Python YAML tags, markdown_extensions names and configuration, theme options, and extra_templates values can reach the documentation generator and cause unintended code execution. The resulting impact is limited to the files, credentials, network access, and other resources available to the TechDocs backend or build container. This issue is fixed in versions 1.14.6 and 1.15.4. |
| Trilium is an open-source hierarchical note-taking application. In versions prior to 0.104.0, the default-on "Safe import" filter fails to neutralize the shareTemplate relation because that relation is not marked as dangerous, allowing an attacker-supplied import archive to plant a server-side template that leads to remote code execution. The relation is omitted from the built-in list of dangerous attributes, so unlike other code-loading relations it is not disabled on import, and when the victim later publishes the imported note the public share renderer feeds the linked EJS code note's raw bytes into ejs.render, which compiles them in the server's Node process. An unauthenticated request to the shared note then executes the attacker's JavaScript with full access to require, process, the filesystem, and the network. This issue is fixed in version 0.104.0. |
| Frappe ERPNext before 15.119.1 and 16.x before 16.32.0 contains a server-side template injection vulnerability because user-controlled message fields are not validated before template rendering, allowing expressions to run in an unrestricted context. Authenticated attackers holding a common operational role can inject template expressions to read and write arbitrary database data, delete documents, send outbound requests from the server, and send mail from the site. |
| Craft CMS from 5.10.2 before 5.10.14 contains a Twig sandbox bypass that allows non-admin users to invoke PHP callables through the "has some" and "has every" operators. Users with the System Messages permission can supply two-argument callables such as passthru or system in sandboxed templates to execute code as the web user. |
| Wizarr is an advanced user invitation and management system for Jellyfin, Plex, Emby, and other media servers. Prior to 2026.9.1, wizard step Markdown supplied through the editor or imported bundles was evaluated by app/blueprints/wizard/routes.py in the application's non-sandboxed Jinja2 environment with application globals exposed. An authenticated user able to create steps, or an administrator importing an untrusted bundle through POST /settings/wizard/import, could execute arbitrary Python when GET /wizard/{server}/{idx} rendered the stored step; app/jinja_filters.py and app/services/wizard_widgets.py contained additional evaluation sinks. This could execute operating-system commands as the application user, disclose the Flask SECRET_KEY, access connected service credentials and the database, and produce stored cross-site scripting. This issue is fixed in 2026.9.1. |
| A security flaw has been discovered in Furion .NET Framework up to 4.9.9.95. This affects the function RunCompile of the file framework/Furion/ViewEngine/Engines/ViewEngine.cs of the component View Engine. The manipulation of the argument content results in improper neutralization of special elements used in a template engine. The attack can be executed remotely. The exploit has been released to the public and may be used for attacks. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way. |
| Backstage is an open framework for building developer portals. Prior to 1.14.6, the @backstage/plugin-techdocs-node package is affected by improper validation of mkdocs theme configuration in techdocs. When TechDocs is configured to build documentation locally or in a container, a user with write access to a registered repository can include configuration values in mkdocs.yml that cause arbitrary code execution during the documentation build process. This issue is fixed in versions 1.14.6 and 1.15.4. |
| A security vulnerability was discovered in Fleet's Helm template preprocessing where templates evaluated by the Fleet controller could reach network resources outside the management cluster. A user who can supply bundle content to a repository referenced by a `GitRepo` resource can cause the Fleet controller to:
- Disclose cluster metadata available to the templating context.
- Reveal information about hosts reachable from the controller's network position.
Because the disclosure channel is name resolution, it may remain effective in environments where outbound traffic is otherwise restricted. The disclosed information is limited to values exposed to the Fleet templating context and to name resolution results. Integrity and availability of managed clusters are not affected.
This issue affects Fleet:
from 0.12.0 before 0.12.19,
from 0.13.0 before 0.13.15,
from 0.14.0 before 0.14.10,
from 0.15.0 before 0.15.6, and
from 0.16.0 before 0.16.1. |
| A system notification template on the Kiteworks appliance was rendered by a template engine that evaluated expressions contained in the stored template body. An authenticated System Administrator could potentially store a crafted template that executed operating-system commands on the appliance when the notification was next sent. |
| Craft CMS 5.10.13.2 contains an authenticated remote code execution vulnerability in the Control Panel action app/render-components.
Any authenticated user with basic Control Panel access can submit request-controlled component classes and property overrides. By first overriding an EntryType object’s uiLabelFormat and then rendering an Entry that resolves the same request-cached entry type, an attacker can cause arbitrary Twig supplied in the request to be evaluated by renderObjectTemplate().
This render path is not sandboxed. A Twig string callable can therefore reach PHP functions such as system(), resulting in operating-system command execution with the privileges of the PHP/web-server process.
The issue was reproduced with an active non-admin Craft Team user with no optional permissions enabled. No access to entry-editing, Settings, utility, user-management, project-config, filesystem, Kubernetes, or environment variables was required. |
| fsspec is a specification and Python implementation framework for filesystem interfaces. From 0.9.0 until 2026.6.0, fsspec.implementations.reference.ReferenceFileSystem evaluates fields from Kerchunk reference JSON documents through unrestricted jinja2.Template(...).render(...) calls in _process_references1._render_jinja, _process_templates, and _process_gen in fsspec/implementations/reference.py. A document supplied inline or fetched from an attacker-controlled URL can provide template expressions that execute Python code when the reference filesystem is opened, including through consumers such as xarray, before referenced data is read. The _process_gen path is reached whenever a document includes a gen array, while the other paths depend on template-related options and values. This issue is fixed in version 2026.6.0. |
| GitLab has remediated a vulnerability in the GitLab AI Gateway component affecting all versions of the AI Gateway from 18.1.6 before 19.2.4, 19.3 before 19.3.2, and 19.4 before 19.4.1 that, under certain conditions, could have allowed an authenticated user with Duo Agent Platform access to escape the prompt template sandbox via a specially crafted flow configuration, resulting in arbitrary command execution on the AI Gateway. |
| Document Merge Service is a document template merge service providing an API to manage templates and merge them with given data. Prior to version 9.1.0, a remote code execution (RCE) via server-side template injection (SSTI) allows for user supplied code to be executed in the server's context where it is executed as the document-merge-server user with the UID 901 thus giving an attacker considerable control over the container. The vulnerability is limited to XLSX templates, were the xltpl library uses a npn-sandboxed Jinja environment for the processing of the template. This issue has been patched in version 9.1.0. |
| A security vulnerability has been detected in formtools.org Form Tools up to 3.1.1. This vulnerability affects the function Clients::updateClientSettingsTab of the file global/code/Clients.class.php of the component Client Settings. The manipulation of the argument page_titles leads to improper neutralization of special elements used in a template engine. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed publicly and may be used. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet. |
| A security vulnerability has been detected in Naichen ThinkCMF up to 8.0.7. Affected by this issue is the function MailController::templatePut of the file cmf-api/src/admin/controller/MailController.php of the component Email Template. The manipulation leads to improper neutralization of special elements used in a template engine. The attack is possible to be carried out remotely. The exploit has been disclosed publicly and may be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way. |
| HFS2 version 2.4.0 and earlier contains a template injection vulnerability in the multipart upload handler that allows unauthenticated attackers to achieve remote code execution by embedding malicious template syntax in a filename. Attackers can craft a filename containing a closing template quoting sequence followed by an exec macro, which bypasses the authorization check in the dispatcher to execute arbitrary commands on the underlying host system. |
